PBT Released

This indicator shows the total pounds of reported PBT (Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic Chemicals) released. This measure includes reported on-site and off-site PBT disposed of or otherwise released (in pounds), for all industries. PBT such as lead and mercury can cause harmful effects to the environment and humans alike. However, these data only reflect releases and other waste management activities of chemicals, not whether (or to what degree) the public has been exposed to those chemicals.
